Tiffany Heritage

Mental Health Social Worker

Tiffany provides deeply relational child psychotherapy and child-focused parent therapy, drawing on her extensive training in child psychotherapy, mental health and integrative play therapy. As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist, her work is informed by contemporary knowledge of attachment, child development, interpersonal neurobiology and trauma-informed practice.

Tiffany believes children’s emotions and behaviours make sense within the context of their development, relationships and life experiences. Rather than focusing on behaviour or symptoms in isolation, she works with children and their caregivers to develop a deeper understanding of what may be underlying a child’s emotional and behavioural experiences, and the factors shaping their wellbeing. Through child-focused parent therapy, Tiffany helps parents make sense of their child’s needs, behaviours, relationships and development, while strengthening their confidence and capacity to respond in ways that nurture connection and support healthy emotional development.

At the heart of Tiffany’s work is a passion for supporting parents to understand and connect with their babies and children in ways that strengthen the parent-child relationship. She believes that when children and parents feel understood, supported and empowered, the benefits extend beyond the therapy room, creating meaningful and lasting change for babies, children and their families.

Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Social Work, a Post Graduate Diploma of Mental Health Science in Child Psychotherapy, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy. She is additionally trained in Synergetic Play Therapy® (neuroscience-based, relational play therapy), Be My Co Therapist™ (parent-child play therapy), Theraplay® (parent-child therapy), and is a certified AutPlay® Therapy Provider (neurodiversity-affirming child and family therapy framework). She is also undertaking individual training in Gottman’s Bringing Baby Home program, which complements her work supporting parents and families through the transition to parenthood.
